This Strawberry Pie has new strawberries mounded high in a rich, rich outside layer. A bit (or enormous) cut of flavorful. The ideal summer dessert and my preferred strawberry pie!

This strawberry pie formula is my mother's mark dessert. She has been making it since we were children, and it's likely the most mentioned dessert at any family work! We love it!

Taking a gander at it, you can perceive any reason why (am I right?) It's pressed to the edge with new, entire strawberries and a thick, gooey coating. Yet, what truly makes the pie is the outside. I can't trust I'm stating that, since I'm typically not a covering individual… ..however the outside layer on this strawberry pie is my top pick! It's so rich and rich… .practically like shortbread… .thus simple to make. Without it, the pie just wouldn't be the equivalent!

Ingredients
Crust

  • 1/2 c. 1 stick butter, softened
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. flour

Filling

  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 6 oz. package strawberry jell-o
  • 3 lbs. strawberries cleaned and de-stemmed
  • *If you are using a shallow pie plate cut filling recipe in half.

Instructions
Crust

  1. Mix butter, sugar, and flour and press into a greased deep pie plate. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15, until lightly browned.

Filling

  1. Bring water, sugar, and cornstarch to a boil, stirring, until thick and clear.
  2. Remove from heat; add strawberry jell-o.
  3. Mix well and cool.
  4. Fold in strawberries.
  5. Pour into pie shell.
  6. Store in refrigerator until set; serve with whipped cream.
